Accelerating Mixed Signal System Design Verification using New Diagnostic Method
ASIM – STS/GMMS Workshop, Dresden, Germany
D.Dammers, D.Schollän, L.M.Voßkämper

Abstract The mixed-signal simulation of complete systems, i.e. the electronics with its attached peripherals, such as sensors and actuators, already has a firm place in today’s design process. While the verification of the digital part, mostly implemented in Verilog and VHDL, has gained a speed increase through the use of Accellera’s Property Specification Language PSL, […]

TMC and Dolphin Integration enter in a partnership for microprocessor cores to enable better competitiveness in the highly price-sensitive smart-card market

Dolphin Integration, the leading provider of Silicon IP products and TMC (Beijing Tongfang Microelectronics Co., Ltd.) announce their partnership starting with a microprocessor core. The mass Smart-Card market is dominated by the 8-bit 8051 architecture. In a market so sensitive to chip price, it has been hard for IC companies to differentiate their ICs beyond

Approach for modeling and evaluation of an actuator model for the positioning of read-/write heads in hard disk drives
Multi-Nature Systems (MNS), Ulm, Germany
T.Wiegand, D.Peters, St.Paul, R.Laur, R.Rosing, A.Richardson, B.Vigna, L.Voßkämper

Inductorless versus Inductor-Based Integrated Switching Regulators: Bill Of Material, Efficiency, Noise, and Reliability Comparisons
M.Renaud, Y.Gagnon,

Abstract Inductor-based Switching Regulators (SR) have historically represented the preferred architecture for power supplies. Nowadays, for low-power and highly integrated electronic systems, embedded inductor-based SRs show several limitations that can be overcome by the use of inductorless SR architectures. This paper provides a qualitative and quantitative comparison between both types of SR in terms of

A novel technique to create behavioral models of differential oscillators in VHDL-AMS
Xth Inter. Workshop on Symbolic & Numerical Methods, Modeling & Applications to Circuit Design, Erfurt, pp.241-246
M.Kraemer, D.Dragomirescu, R.Plana

Abstract This paper describes an approach to model the transient and steady state behavior of differential microwave oscillators at the system level. Furthermore, phase noise characteristics can be emulated by the resulting models. The mathematical structure consist of a set of algebraic and differential equations that are solved by a VHDL-AMS interpreter. The nonlinearity occurring
